The Xerces Society: Saving the Little Things that Run the World

The Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation is the largest invertebrate conservation in the world.
Our name Xerces comes from the extinct Xerces Blue Butterfly, which lost its habitat due to human development.
For the past 50 years, we have been working to save insects and other invertebrates from that same fate.
As a science based organization and with almost 70 staff around the U.S., we work with farmers, public and private landowners, government agencies and communities to build pollinator habitat, protect endangered species, address climate change and reduce pesticide impacts.
Xerces work has led to the restoration and protection of more than 3 million acres of habitat for invertebrates.
Plus, habitat improvements across tens of millions of additional acres.
